BlackHouse on Bigelow

BlackHouse Seven in collaboration with the City of Peoria committed to exploring the viability of rehabilitation of the existing residential housing infrastructure in Peoria’s Central neighborhoods. BlackHouse Seven purchased the property from the City of Peoria’s Land Bank in early 2022 and is currently working through the rehabilitation, expected to be completed in May 2024.

The 1910 Foursquare sits nestled within Peoria’s oldest historic district. BlackHouse on Bigelow boasts the majority of its original windows, wood siding, and an array of original features including a turn of the century Murphy Bed! It is believed to be 1 of 3 Sears Catalog Homes still standing on the 1300 block of North Bigelow.
